The real battle isn’t left vs. right. It’s fact vs fiction…

Donald Trump has long presented himself as a staunch defender of Christian values, claiming deep religious conviction while courting the evangelical right. However, when his actions are scrutinised against the Ten Commandments  a core pillar of Christian ethics  a series of glaring contradictions emerge. This article examines how Trump has repeatedly flouted these sacred principles. It is not an attack on faith, but a factual and critical reflection on hypocrisy, delusion, and the dangers of elevating political personalities to near religious status.

‍

Below we take a look at some of Commandments and see how the Donald has faired in living by their true values.

You shall not commit adultery

Donald Trump has publicly admitted to and has been accused of multiple extramarital affairs, including with Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal. He was also found liable in a court of lawfor writer E. Jean Carroll, following a jury trial in 2023.

‍

You shall not steal

Trump’s now-defunct charity, the TrumpFoundation, was ordered to pay $2 million in damages after it was found to have misused donations for personal and political gain. (Source: Wikipedia — TrumpFoundation)

‍

You shall not bear false witness

Trump’s presidency was marked by anavalanche of lies over 30,000 false or misleading statements were documented by fact checkers. (Source: Wikipedia — Trump’s false or misleading statements)

‍

You shall not covet

Trump’s public envy of others' success, status, and power is well documented. He once bragged that he now had the tallest building in Manhattan following the destruction of the Twin Towers.(Source: Reddit r/politics, 2025)

‍

Donald Trump’s repeated violations of the Ten Commandments aren’t just personal failings they’re moral betrayals wrapped in the language of faith. While millions of Americans and Christians around the world genuinely strive to live by Christian values, Trump treats religion like a prop, using it to shield himself from criticism and court loyalty he hasn’t earned. His words contradict his deeds, and his actions undermine the very principles he claims to defend. In the end, Trump doesn’t just ignore the Commandments he tramples them in full view of the nation, daring anyone to call it out. And i fChristianity truly stands for truth, humility, and integrity, then it’s time believers stop mistaking idolatry for devotion.
